• Sigiriya is an ancient rock in Sri Lanka. 
• This place situated in the central Mathale district of Sri Lanka.

•  Sigiriya refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock around 180 metres high. 
• King Kashyapa built his place on top of the rock  and decorated its sides with colourful ferscoes . 
• The western wall of Sigiriya as almost entirely covered by frescoes created during the King Kashyapa. 
• One of the most striking features of Sigiriya is its Mirror World. 

      

• The mirror wall is painted with inscriptions and poem written by the visitors of Sigiriya 
• The most ancient inscriptions are dated from the 8th century. 
• These inscriptions are proving that sigiriya was a tourist destination more than a thousand years ago . 
• Today we should protect Sigiriya.
